First Thought. Call the Builder.
When a premium block of land was to be sold in Blairgowrie a call came in to Michael O’Sullivan known for building iconic homes through his building business, Icon Synergy, on the Mornington Peninsula for over 25 years.
“My initial thoughts were that this is a superb block of land and one of the very best in Blairgowrie. I saw the view of Camerons Bight and shoreline as the primary aspect and worth chasing down in the design phase.”
Directional Thinking. The Design.
The land was purchased. Time to get the design right and that’s where the offering is truly unique. Michael is also Principal Designer and Managing Director of Vibe Design Group alongside his daughter, Kathryn.
“Firmly focused on the full design service through Vibe, the biggest decision with the steep rear slope was how to bring the swimming pool up to the main living area. Early consultation with engineers gave certainty to the pool base structure and we were able to propose a resolved concept where pool entry would be off the upper level.”
Careful spatial planning meant the lower rooms would have their own unique water views around the pool’s solid base. A worthwhile endeavour.
Following the Script - the Build
With a client relationship already well established it was time to move to the build phase and that’s where Icon Synergy steps in.
“The importance of the design being correct from its inception is that you can have real flow throughout the construction phase. With 3D land placement and fully thought-out construction drawings you are very deliberately seeking that specific outcome. It’s now a matter of following the script and delivering a quality building.”
